The National Women’s Research and Documentation Centre

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

The National Women’s Research and Documentation Center (WRDC) is the national associate center which was established in 2009 aiming to carry out research, capacity building and advocate on women issues, including women rights, women empowerment, gender equality, and gender based violence (GBV) and women in peace building.

The National center was formed through myriad consultation meetings of stakeholders and technical support from UNESCO/UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), UN-Women, in collaboration with Ministry of Health, Community Development, Gender, Elderly, and Children and stakeholders decided the Tengeru Institute of Community Development (TICD) to host this national associate center.
