COURSE DESCRIPTION
Effective response to gender-based violence is an important aspect of promoting gender equality and addressing gender-based discrimination and violence. This programme aims at promoting gender equality by raising awareness about gender-based discrimination and violence; enhancing the capacity of participants to recognize, respond to, and prevent gender-based violence; improving the quality of services provided to survivors of gender-based violence; understand the legal and policy frameworks that govern gender-based violence; building partnerships and networks between gender desk officers, NGOs, and other stakeholders working on gender equality and ending gender-based violence; and improving the self-awareness and self-care of participants by providing them with tools and strategies to manage stress, trauma, and burnout.
TAGET AUDIENCE
This programme is designed to accommodates: Gender desk officers in Police stations, higher learning institutions, social workers, matrons, patrons, Community Development workers, staff from NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, and secondary and primary school teachers.
