The Institute has a Students’ Union called Tengeru Institute of Community Development – Students Organization (TICD-SO). The student Union occupies a central position in student social affairs and recreation activities. Students’ welfare for the TICD students are organized and managed by TICD-SO, which is a democratically elected student’s body. This body links students to the Institute Management.
TICD- SO leadership comprise of the Students’ Government and the Representative Cabinet. The students’ government comprise of the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Secretary General, Attorney General, Cabinet, Members of Parliament and Class Representatives. The Government comprise of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Clerk and members of the Parliament. General elections are normally held (between May and June) every year where students elect their leaders who eventually form students’ government and the representative council/parliament.
